According to a report by the Malek National Museum and Library's Public Relations, UNESCO Senior Expert Ms. Roslyn Russell visited the Museum and Library on Thursday June 17, 2010.

Accompanied by two experts from the National Library and Documentation Organization and Malek Museum's Assistant Director in Cultural Affairs Mr. Mohsen Hashemi, Ms. Russell visited the fine treasures of the museum and library. Last February a group of experts from UNESCO and the Memory of the World Program visited the Malek treasures, as a result of which Malek Museum's manuscript of Nezami's Khamseh "A Collection of Nezami's Panj Ganj" was submitted for inclusion in the Memory of the World Register. This time, Australia's Mrs. Russell, UNESCO senior expert, member of the International Advisory Committee of the Memory of the World Program and the Chair of the Register Sub-Committee of the International Memory of the World Program visited the Museum and Library to form the final opinion on the nomination. After observing valuable manuscripts such as Ferdowsi's Shahnameh and Mezami's Khamseh, she maintained that such precious treasures hold great value and should be diligently safeguarded.

It is worth mentioning that Malek Museum's fine manuscript of Nezami's Khamseh was eventually nominated for registration in Memory of the World Program, and received its national Memory Program registration license at the 23rd International Tehran Book Fair.
